My latest was yesterday . . .

"Note to Self: Do NOT go on a long ride immediately after eating only two large pieces of greasy pizza for lunch."

What are some of your lessons-learned "Notes to Self" while riding? . . .

Why did I think one energy gel will get me through a 4 hour ride?

I tend to think: "next ride, I should check the skewers first".

When riding by myself and just taking it easy, my most common note to self is "Remember how much fun it is to ride nice and easy, don't feel like you have to go hard every time out."

. . . I can identify with that one. :D

Or was it aimed at me in the first place? :p

Not eating before a ride is not the way to lose weight!

When you bonk, wood-fired thin crust pizzza will get you back on the road and home.

Note to self: don't forget that the bike is on the roof rack as you come back home toward the garage.

Always bring the seat bag. Cause if I had the seat bag I would have the 5mm hex wrench and I could tighten this slipped saddle and I wouldn't be peddaling with my knees up around my ear lobes.

I honestly didn't think the ride home was all that bad. Guinness does wonders...

I did this at DBRK's Finger Lakes Ramble several years ago! Rode Saturday in the rain, cleaned my bike after, forgot and left the seat bag off. Rode Sunday and--yeah, you guessed it! Got a flat just after everybody else had taken off from a regroup. Stopped, got off, looked for the seat bag and . . . D'OH!

Started walking, called and left message for DBRK--he eventually came and hauled my sorry *ss back to his place.

Hilarious now, not so much then!
