1984 Olympics Serotta?

I saw this Serotta time trial bike (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Custom-Serotta-Time-Trial-Funny-Bike-Columbus-Fork-Turbo-Saddle-/270875298343?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f116d0a27#ht_14250wt_952) in person about 2 weeks ago. It is pretty cool. I told the owner to email Ben some pictures for the book and anniversary.

I would love to own it but I would rather save my money for a Serotta I will ride. This one deserves a restoration and a spot in a museum.

The only thing i dont understand of that frame is the second seatpost bolt thing, the one in the middle. Reinforcement??? Kind'a .. "oh... wont work right this way, lets put a normal seatpost bolt in the top!"

Nice work tho, reminds me a lot my old master builder work.

That aero seatpost is probably more rare than hen's teeth. I commented to the owner on that very thing. He said he rode it once or twice but just recently started parting it out for some reason.

Well, apparently it sold last night for $320 less than the original Buy it Now price of $999.00. I guess the seller took an offer and lowered the price. That was fast.

Did someone here buy it?
