I have a little dent on my seat stay about 6 inches from the seat post. I was thinking of getting the dip/dent welded/built up then I could file it down to match the level of the seat stay. Any of you have done this? Is there another way to fix the dent?

The traditional and much less invasive way is rolling the tube with frame blocks:

Since your stay isn't in their size range, I would just have something made. Bore a block of aluminum to the stay diameter, put four cross bolt holes through it, cross cut the big hole and clamp it around the greased stay. Turn it using the frame as a lever and the block in a vice, or put the block on the end of wrench and twist.

Or, better yet, have someone who knows what they're doing with frame blocks take care of it.
