I just did my first TT with the new HED aero brake lever installed. This is a third brake lever that, using a cable splitter, controls the rear brake from the end of the aero bars.

It is along the idea of the one Zabriske used, but it attaches to a Shimano aero bar shifter by replacing the internally threaded "stud" that holds the lever in place and it faces backwards like the other brake levers.

Installation took about 1/2 hour from tape removal to finishing re-taping.

While it won't stop the bike to zero in a huge hurry, it does control speed for cornering and works pretty well in an emergency to get the bike under control.

The confidence of having control without having to sit up is amazing. The ability to do sharp corners without having to sit up is also very cool.

Pictures of the setup will follow as soon as my wife gets back from vaction with the digi-cam.
