View Full Version : FS: Serotta/Davis Phinney Complete Bike or frame/fork

12-10-2011, 02:27 PM

It's time to move my Phinney along. It has been set up as my single speed town bike but is now mostly converted back to a geared bike. However, I haven't gotten around to lacing up the rear wheel. That being said, the bike is being sold as is. I will include the shimano 600 rear hub, cassette, spokes, and nipples. It was repainted and re-stickered a few years ago by Serotta (I live in Saratoga). The paint is absolutely lovely. It a blue to green fade with great depth and a real nice sparkle. There are a couple minor chips from use which I have uploaded pics of. It's either a 1989 or a 1990. I'm not sure.

The top tube c-c is 56.515cm
the seat tube, c-c is 55.245cm

The serial number is 90203

Wheels: Shimano 600 hubs laced to mavic reflex rims,
Bars: Cinelli Campione del mondo 40cm
Stem: 3TTT with serotta engraving
Brifters: Shimano RSK
Crankset: Dura-Ace
Front Der. : Dura-Ace
Rear Der. : Shimano 600
Cassette: Shimano 600
Brakes: Shimano 105
Seatpost: Dura-Ace
Saddle: Specialized toupe 143
Bottle cages: Cannondale painted to match frame

Just to be clear, there is a surly flip flop hub on the bike now but I will include a matching shimano 600 hub and appropriate spokes. Also, I have a serotta engraved cinelli stem which will be included. Bike will also come with a chain and schwalbe marathon 28 tires.

I can snap pics of specific items if desired. I'd like to get $625 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. I'm also interested in trades, especially cool track bikes. Also looking for old steel, a TT bike, and a powertap. This is a pretty unique bike and a real hoot to ride. It's a very quick and aggressive handling bike. It would be a a super cool old school crit bike!

Looks like I'm having trouble uploading big pics. If anyone is seriously interested, please shoot me a PM and I'll get a bunch of pics to you via email.

Thanks for looking!

Found my next dream bike, in my size, locally, at a great price. But I need to sell this one first to justify the purchase. I'm motivated to sell! Thanks for putting up with my constant thread bumping. I'll quite bumping this thread daily, now.

BUMP. I realize the bike looks shabby in the pictures (no bar tape, seat tilted up, loose cables). I was in a hurry to get it up online so I took pictures in the middle of the rebuild. This is seriously a nice bike and it's in wicked good condition. If it sells it will have bar tape and be all dialed in. I'm trying to get around to having the rear 600 hub laced up but in the meantime it's for sale with the ss wheel + 600 hub, cassette, spokes, chain.
