I have two, and a Nuovo Supercorsa. This one is tough, cause it's so purty. It won't break my heart if it doesn't sell.

OK, I can help.

Folks, zmud's a horrible guy, and not at all trustworthy. I would stay far, far away from this sale. He probably doesn't even really own these bikes. Under no circumstances should you attempt to buy anything from him.

Of course I'm just kidding. Those bikes are beautiful.

Good luck with the sale. :)

BTW, our friend from the GWN is due into town soon, hope to nail down the Spring AZ ride at that time.

Dream no more! As I said, I have two, and my other one, while not in as nice of condition, it is the only bike I ever bought new, way back in 1984. I commuted on it with GP4's and raced it on the weekend with GL330's. It's a bit beat, but I can't bring myself to selling it, so this one is on the block.

I converted my original SC to Campy 10:

I have parts in the bin to convert the red one if it doesn't sell. I love the old SLX SC's.

All PM's replied to. It was tough sleeping last night, I am trying hard not to change my mind. I don't need to sell, I just don't want to be that crazy old guy with all the bikes.

It's true that cats take up less room. But they smell worse. I'd keep the bikes and sell the cats.

No cats here, we are a dog house (did that come out right?)

And as my esteemed colleagues have pointed out, it is too late for the crazy part.

This has to get bumped up to the 1st page again.

What's wrong with you guys? I've seen all of these bike personally - stunning bikes in tip-top condition, from a seller that is beyond reproach. Why haven't these sold yet?

I gotta tell ya.... if I didn't already have a Cinelli SC, I'd be hitting on the red one relentlessly. And..... I'm still tempted to give him a call.

Veloflex Criteriums just glued on, one ride. I need the hook space.

I also have a few spare wheels for all of these bikes, maybe even a set of clinchers in the mix.

Tex, I think that aesthetically, it shows the best. It's also a fine rider.

Of all the bikes, I have ridden this one the most, but still only a few times a year. The other Merckx was too special to ride, and the Cinelli too pristine. The problem is I can't justify having a bike I ride 2-3 times a year, and as I get older, I realize that I don't want my kids to have to deal with the bikes when I'm gone. They are all taller, so passing them down is not an option.

I'd just like them to go to an appreciative owner, someone in the community, so to speak. It will never go to that auction site.

I agree that aesthetically the '85 is the nicest. The older Merckx logo just doesn't do it for me. Faema livery does do it for me. If I didn't have $$$ in on a MAP Randonneur Project to be delivered this Spring, this Faema would be sold. Great bicycle...

Guys, it's been pouring all day here in PHX, so I only took one crappy flash picture of the lettering. The outline is gold, not whatever color the flash turned it. The pearl paint is fantastic. I will take some daylight pictures whenever the rain stops (not complaining about rain in the desert, really).

I've taken some new pictures of the final Merckx for sale. The outline on the lettering is silver, not gold (wife's Merckx is gold).

The wheels are Mavic 330/rear, 280/frt, with Veloflex Crits glued, maybe 50 miles on them. The saddle is no longer new. There are no dents/dings and the pearl paint is bright. Just a few very minor paint chips, less than you would expect on a 1985 bike. Needs nothing but a new owner who will appreciate it, ready to ride.

You're killin' me with this! I can't afford the complete bike right now and it would border on criminal to break up such a nicely put together machine to sell just the frameset. Therefore I can only look, admire, and see this as the one that got away. Someday I'll have a nice Merckx... someday.

I agree, it's just too nice to break up, it took awhile to piece together the little things on it, as is.

I had forgotten that I have a 80mm pantographed 1A stem that originally came on it, and would sub for the 120mm that is on it presently, if it suits the buyer better.
