This seems like a popular topic lately...

Back on the 4th of November I took a hard spill into the road going about 23 MPH. I wasn't even doing a real ride, just commuting to the Thrift Store!
I broke my Clavicule (sp?) and fully seperated my AC ligament. I had surgery on the 8th and am in Physical Therapy now. This is definitely not the best way to get a gnarly scar...

That was before the surgery, on the day it happened. I could've been an extra in "Thriller" with the angle my shoulder was. Funny that the worst bike accident I've been in had no road rash.
The bike didn't have a scratch on it apart from the brake lever breaking.

Good luck with the recovery. I'm lucky I didn't break mine. But it's damn sore!

Wow,... that looks really ugly.

Glad to hear the bike was saved.

Good luck with your rehab and heal quickly. (Hope yah have a trainer layin' around somewhere.)

Dang, sorry to hear. How many titanium bolts and plates are you sporting now?

This isn't a good month for commuting, I know someone who just had a clean break like that...on his femur.

Man, that clavicle is DISPLACED! The bump on your shoulder is gnarly.

An aside....my 5 year old boy was playing on my nephew's long-board skate-board thingy...laying down on it and coasting down hills. He crashed and scraped his shoulder and hand. He was pretty proud when I told him what road rash was, and that his wounds looked pretty cool.

Heal well Secosera!

Sorry to hear about that. That's an ugly break. I hope the recovery is quick.

I remember an old girlfriend telling me that she was avoiding her friends daughter, hit a curb, and went over the handlebars, with a similar result.

Thanks guys,

PT is going well. I want to rush it but I know better (AC tear on the other shoulder I didn't let heal all the way before getting back on the road...).

The worst part about this is the visible loss of muscle mass in my left arm. I didn't have big arms before, but now it's just pathetic. I've lost 6 lbs since surgery (142 down to 136) and I'm pretty sure it's almost all muscle. It's gonna be a looooong road. :crap:

I can't even do sit-ups!
