Anyone have any experience with these wheels?

THanks

Are you talking about the ones with the red spoke/hub? They haven't hit the shops yet, I've got two pair sold sight unseen, without a firm price even. As soon as we get them I'll know more.

THANKS (I hear price will be 1099 from what the rumor mill has)

Not to change the subject but I think you might also look into these two wheelsets. However one isn't out yet and the other doesn't seem to generate any reviews at all. I guess I can only keep an eye out for possible reviews.

And here's a review (if you can call it that) of the ksyrium ES...at least you get some pics.

the Fulcrums are expensive and offer no real improvement over the Ksyriums. Possibly a drawback, the nipples on the Fulcrums are fed into the rim on a tape and then pulled through the hole in the rim, unlike the K's whose nipples thread into the rim. The Campy Eurus will be like this for '06 as well, no surprise as Campy makes the Fulcrums.

Hey Bill B,

Not to argue but the price is the same for the fulcrums and the ksyrium ES. The two wheelsets seem on par in almost every way so I guess its down to preference. I've heard some reports that the fulcrum method prevents cracking at the nipples which some ksyriums are reported to do. Thoughts? I ride the original ksyriums but am curious about the other wheelsets mentioned.

By the way have you tried a set of fulcrums? I'd be curious for any input. Thanks. :)

I have read all the write ups on the SL and the ES and I can't figure out why anyone would pay the $300 premium for the ES. No one would do that for a measely 20g would they? A red spoke/red hub? What am I missing?

Gee, with thinking like that we'd all soon be riding Gunnars with DT Swiss/Aerohead wheels. And the entire bike industry would revert back
to the swamp. Mavic gets to charge about 40% more for wheels 'cause they're French, and lunch in France is real expensive compared to the
PB&J sandwiches Peter White lives on.
