Exactly and something for that student on a budget for campus.

its a good question. you cant even buy a serviceable wheelset for that price.

claimed lifetime warranty on frame and fork too.

if i were a bike shop anywhere near a college campus, i'd buy every one of them and sell that at decent profit all day long.

I was able to commute from the electronics section to men's sporting goods in no time at all.

Only problem is then you would have to service them. Wal-Mart/Target/Internet bikes are much more difficult to service than anything else.
The first bike I ever worked on at the shop was a Target bike. I disassembled the crank and never got it back together. I learned: don't take apart anything on a cheap bike that you don't absolutely have to.

Meh, people on campus ride SE drafts anyway. Here, it's the third most common bike after beach cruisers (ugh) and shady Micargi fixies. They're decent enough simple bikes.

. . . keep a watch out for another 15-minute showing on Bonktown, since they still have 200+ in stock, in a full range of sizes in both red and purple. Likely to show up for $100 at least one more time today.

This go-around on Bonktown is sold out, but RealCyclist still has 211 in stock, which means there is at least a chance they will come around one more time for $100 on BT's CyberTuesday sale.

Yes, and when the accidents started to happen because the thing is falling apart, you're liability insurance would probably take a huge hit. Just sayin...

took it for a couple of quick spins around the block and this thing is fun. exactly what i wanted, a very cheap basic commuter that i don't care about getting scratched, dinged, etc. thanks to the op for the heads up.

a bike for a hundred bucks. comical, really.
