I’ll probably regret this one, but I’m looking to reduce some overlap in my stable and want to make room for a new project, so I’m putting my 2004 Kirk “Montana Road Bike” (serial number 080418) up on the auction block.
The following items are included:
--Frame
--Fork
--1” threadless logoless King Headset (from back when they would do logoless)
--Custom fillet brazed Kirk stem, 120mm, 10 degree angle (does this count as a collector’s item since DK doesn’t build them anymore?)

The bike has a good number of nicks in the paint, and I’ve tried to capture that in the detailed photos on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/33769898@N04/sets/72157628179853457/), but there are probably a few nicks and chips that I did not capture. A few spots of surface rust on the front of the stem and chain hanger in the rear.
Suffice it to say that the bike has been ridden, but never wrecked or abused. There are zero dents, dings, problems, quirks, etc. The frame is straight as an arrow, rides like a dream, and will not disappoint anyone unless you are looking for an as new JB paint job.

Rear Dropout Spacing: 135
Tire clearance: true 35s and fenders work OK. Jack browns and fenders are perfect. You can squeeze a true 38-39mm tired in there w/o fenders, though the clearance with the rear brake bridge can be problematic depending on the tire.
Water bottles: two, both on the downtube. This allows a pump to be mounted on the seattube, as show in the former build pic. There is no pump peg, but it works fine.
Tubing: Built with “oversize” tubing. i.e., a 1 1/8" seat and top tube and a 1 1/4" down tube. According to Dave, the top tube is 7-4-7 and the DT is 8-6-8.
Saddle height in the pics is 79cm for reference.
I will also be selling a great set of wheels for this bike is anyone is interested: XTR m900 hubs laced to 32h Mavic Open Sport rims, double butted spokes, brass nips. Built by Peter White.
