Ending in about an hour with 0 bids at $899, buy it now $1,250. Looks to be in good shape, I think this size should have a 23" top tube.

I think that would have gotten a bid if all the parts shown were included. I didn't know they weren't until I read the question/answer at the bottom.

$899 for a Ti Max frame, Fox fork, and King headset and no one bid? Not having disk mounts worked against it but it probably would have sold if the owner had provided more info, better pictures, and had the auction end in the evening instead of early morning.

^ Agreed, and this is its second listing, started at $950 last time and got nothing. It is remarkable how little value ti frames hold these days, especially with 26" wheels in todays 29er focused market. For the right buyer thought, could be a sweet bike.

its more that rim-brake only frames hold very very little value regardless of material or wheel size.

I think it has more to do with the kid sized wheels than the frame material. The seller's "finest hardtail ever made" sounds a bit aspirational too. I only notice 26" wheeled bikes with a sense of nostalgia now; rather than as something I'd use in earnest in the woods.

Great for me because I'm not buying a 29er - that's what a cross bike is for!

26" is where I'll be for a while.

At 6'3" I'm right there with you, but I think the across the board acceptance of the 29er among people shorter than 5'11" or so is short sighted. Not everyone will benefit from jumping on this bandwagon. While my new Zanconato 29er will ahve disk brakes, I still have two 26" wheeled MTBs with rim brakes that are a blast to ride.

doesn't help that the listing is in "road bikes" and "track bikes"

At $899 it's worth buying as a winter bike and flipping in the spring. You could easily part it out and make a profit when the weather turns warm again.

^ That is in part the problem with the listing, there is nothing to part out (well except for the fork). The pictures are of a largely built bike, but its just F/F/HS.

Poor pictures, nonexistent description.

For someone who sells as much as they do, I would have expected them to figure out they're giving away money by now.

if it were a complete bike for $899 i bet it'd also be a tough sell.

For me the biggest drawback was the lack of a disc mount, it had nothing to do with the 26" wheels. I am more than happy with my 26" IBIS...I am also 6' 2.5"(used to be 6' 3", but shrinking with age). My next project MTB will be a 29er and fully rigid, I am currently looking for a cheap frame for this experiment I have yet to find a 29er that can replace my long travel Ibis.

It's gone now. Tried to buy it after auction end but seller had already
made a deal. Anyone here get it?
