Traditional Nitto drop bars

Does anyone know what is the difference, if any, between the Nitto "Model 115" bar and the "Model B135" handlebar? Both are "traditional drop bars" each with a 25.4 clamp and available in 45 cm width. Any information?

The 115 is a 'regular' road bar, 100mm reach, 140mm drop.

The 135 is the 'randonneur' bar, the sweeps up at the bends
and flares at bit where the levers clamp. 105 reach, 120 drop.

I like the 176 bar(only 26.0 clamp) the best. I find the 115 very square,
and it has a lot of forward reach that doesn't go too well with integrated
shifters. But bars are in an individual thing.

Grant,

Thanks for the recommendation....Jitensha has the B135 listed under "traditional drop handlebars", the randonneur bars have a different model# (136AA), at least according to them. I'd glad to know that there is a model w/ 26 mm clamp that doesn't look goofy. Thanks!!

Aha....4 seconds of research has revealed the Model 176 bar is the Rivendell "Dream" bar....which I actually have on my fixed gear. I love that handlebar. I am looking for a wide (45-46 cm) "classic" alloy bar for an upcoming frame, and would be thrilled to find another 46 cm Dream bar. It looks like Rivendell has been out of them for a long time.

I think they typo'd that 136. B135 is definitely the rando bar.

The 176 is the "dream" bar the rivendell designed. It used to only be
for sale at the rivendell site, but it seems now it's available elsewhere
on the web. I bought a 40cm size one from bensbike on ebay,
as rivendell has never brought the dream bar instock in anything under
a 42cm. It's a bit strange, that the dream bar exsists in sizes that
rivendell never sold, but maybe nitto has added it and opened things
up since it's been out for a while now.

You likely want a big one, right? 44cm c to c is as big as i've seen it
on ebay.

Rivendell was selling a heat treated version of the dream 176 bar, but
i can't find it on their site now.

Looks like Jitensa has the 176 in a 46cm heat treated:

I like the 115s with Ergo levers. The reach is a bit long but the width and drop are nice. I'd like to try the Noodles too.

I tried the Nitto 135 Randonneur bars but bars splay out where the STI levers go and it looks pretty goofy with the lever ends sticking way out.

The bars on the Tournesol are the Nitto model 176. Much more conventional and classic.

Dave,

That is one nice bike, I remember when DBRK first put up pics, and I thought that was the first CF frame that I really life the looks of. A piece of art.
