Wraith Fabrication, Columbus Ohio

Anyone have any experience with Wraith Fabrication and their Hustle road frames? www.wraithfabrication.com
Very competitive price for a steel road frame and good reviews on their Website (as would be expected)....

Do I understand correctly from their website that the frames have a 60-day warranty?!

I'd be very interested to hear what @greengage has to say. I just looked at the Paycheck and it looks like a good deal (and I'm actively looking/considering getting rid of my canti cx bike and moving to a disc specific frame)

I'd be interested in fellow forumites feelings regarding the warranty...

for example Niner bikes - Niner Bikes will warranty all non-carbon fiber frames and parts for material defects and workmanship for a minimum period of two (2) years from the date of purchase for the original owner only.

vs Wraith - Unless otherwise provided, the sole remedy under the above warranty, or any implied warranty, is limited to the replacement of defective parts with those of equal or greater value at the sole discretion of Wraith Fabrication LLC. Unless within the free 60-day repair labor period, you will be responsible for labor costs associated with warranty replacements.

If you have doubts, I would drop an email to Adam at Wraith or give him a call.

If not already known, Adam is the guy behind Stanridge Speed. He's very responsive and I doubt that he would not stand behind his product if there were any defects due to craftsmanship. It's not in his (or his small brands) best interest and he seems genuinely passionate about delivering a frame that lives up to any hype.

The specs, responsiveness and positive energy around the Wraith project were enough for me to pull the trigger. Now I wait...

Those warranties look basically identical to me -- if the frame busts because of manufacturing error, they'll replace it. Niner isn't going to pay your shop for stripping and rebuilding the new frame. I think you guys are making up issues where none exist.

I sure hope so. It is a big positive to see such a project, so I hope it is a smashing success for them.

I almost pulled the trigger last fall on a Hustle but found something for immediate pleasure. I got some input from this BF member and this:

"Paycheck: You wouldn't expect a frame/fork/headset/collar at this pricepoint to come in at 3.15 lbs.**"

For real?? I'm assuming that's a typo.

I have a Paycheck myself. Only have a couple rides, about 80 miles on it so far. All in all it is a fantastic frame. I didn't weigh it pre-build, nor do I have the weight as built, but I'd guess around 20 lbs. I've taken it on a mix of dirt roads, gravel roads, pavement and back woods sticks and stones paths, and it handles incredibly well and is a blast to ride. Feels light and agile in hand, descends and corners well. My fitness is turdly right now, so climbing is a drag... Not sure how much to blame on the bike yet. Probably mostly my fault.

I have a few minor gripes about the purchase process and things that came up when I went to build the bike up.... But overall I'm very satisfied with my choice. Adam seems like a great guy, with a "mission" that I can appreciate and the quality of the frame is excellent.

Fair distinction and one worth making. That said, it's good to know there is that sort experience in the mix.
