Challenge Eroica Tires - Carl Strong

I posted a few sets of rubber for sale (PR's Still for Sale) last week to pay for these. I also posted the tire mount rant but once I got the technique down on these bad boys it wasn't so difficult.

Anyway, I got out for about a 15 mile shake out yesterday. They ride wonderful... 75psi/72psi.

I've run Jack Browns (Green) which measure 33.3mm wide on my rims. These are 30.2mm on the same rims. Both ride really well, but with the Kinlin 19mm rims the JB's were a bit light bulb shaped and felt a little funny in the corners. The Eroica tires felt great in the corners.

Both soak up the bumps when I run them around 75psi. The Erioca tires felt faster and more sure on the ground.

That said, I never flatted with the JB's and they saw a lot of fire roads as well. I think I'll run some sealant in these now, because Challenge tires are frah-gil-ee as we all know.

Love the bike. Tasty.

Is that saddle brown, or do I need more coffee?

Beautiful bicycle. I would think 19mm rims are a bit out of favor now, although Kinlins have a decent reputation.

It looks like the Fizik Kurve Bull. Which means they are black.... though I think they are coming in a white/black version this year.

I can make that saddle brown, no problem.

And that bike is fantastic. I'm a sucker for panel paint jobs and this one is dang near perfect.
