H Plus Son Archetype Wheels

Just got these wheels built up by Juan at Cycle Pro in Lake Forest. H Plus Son Archetype polished aluminum 23 mm rims (25mm depth) tied to CK R45 hubs. Excited to take them out and compare them to the C2 wheelset I have.

Very nice. I'm in the market for a pair of wide wheels and look forward to your review.

which bike...

Are they going on? Did you consider the black ones? I'm intrigued but wonder how the color on the braking surface would hold up over time

The wheels are going on a few bikes, but mainly the Merckx MX-Leader. I've never really had a problem with non-annodized braking surfaces holding up. I hope these hold up as well.

I don't have the wheels here with me right now, but I think the logos are painted, not decals. Will confirm tonight.

Did the wheelbuilder comment on the quality of the rims?

I meant the ano surface...the all black looks so hot and I love the subtle decals...but my guess is they'll wear out

Ride them in good health!!

The rims are finished incredibly well. Can't tell where the seam is. However, Juan is worried about the polished aluminum finish. He thinks the finish is going to be damaged/scratched easily.

As for building up, he cranked up the tension high on these. He is curious to see how it holds up in the first couple hundred miles.

Here are a few more pix.

Thought I read some negative commentary about those rims across the hall. Could be wrong, and comments are just that. Would love to hear feedback down the line. Good luck.

How do you say the name of that company? "H plus son" or "H and Son"?

If the website, http://hplusson.com/, is any indication, it's the former.
