Sounds like a scam.

I don't use PayPal or buy off of eBay.

I have bought off people in the classifieds here and try to talk to people on the phone. I send USPS checks. I take pictures of the envelope and check and email the seller before I send it. I ask them to cash and wait tell it clears then please send. I can't be in any hurry.

Rewarding in that I caused them spend time, effort and money in their attempt to scam me. They guy from Nigeria that sent one of those checks via FedEx overnight spent nearly $50 because I told him I was leaving the country and needed payment right away. Worm turned.
