What's your favorite hands-free phone holder for the car?

I have tried several, all failed and disappointed, for reasons include block vision, hard to reach, fall off or come unhinged unexpectedly, made of flimsy and breakable material.

Interested to hear what others have tried and worked well.

What's your favorite hands-free phone holder for the car?

I have two answers...the first is this Miracase. Grabs a variety of phone sizes, holds snugly, releases easily, solid mount. I do not use the vent mount...I hard mount on the dash, or on the work bench, or on the treadmill, or on the trainer bike. The AMP ball mount allows you to use mounts for any/all of those. (See below).

The second is Apple CarPlay. Once I added aftermarket CarPlay to my current vehicle, where the phone goes is irrelevant. It's a game changer. Phone stays in my pocket, or charging in a pocket, etc. Depending on your vehicle you might be able to add CarPlay...

I went to a CarPlay & Android Auto compatible head unit. Instantly modernized our 16 yr old vehicle.

My favorite phone holder for the car? My pocket. I don't touch the phone or even think of touching it when I'm driving. Anything that needs to happen comes through my Sync control. Hands off phone answering and texting is read to me when I want.

Apple car play will virtually end the need to use your phone in the car. Of all the whizmo gadgetry added in new cars, the back up camera and Apple car play are the two best.

I hear you pals, one day... when the sun is shinin', the birds are singing and the sky is blue, I will replace the head unit in my old car. But not today, not tomorrow.

Chris pal, I hear you too, on phone off while driving but sometimes I just gotta catch the next episode of my favorite Korean drama while i am diving and get my fix right away instead of waiting until I get home. A man needs what he needs.

I too use a quad lock, and have adaptors for my route werks bags so it works out fine. Tho I’m MUCH less inclined to think about or use my phone while on a bike ride vs a car ride. Driving for work puts me in the car at least 2.5 hrs per day.. so yeh I podcast

The only time I use my phone in the car is if it's stationary in a parking lot.

That's you Louis pal, I am NOT you.

To be completely honest, I am surprised you even have a phone.

I'm confident in saying that the roads would be safer for cyclists and cars if there were less cell phone use while driving, and I behave accordingly.

I actually disagree with that partially.

Before navigation was widespread or available, I was a rolling disaster on the road in new places. Trying to fumble with paper maps, printed mapquest directions, peering out the windows looking for street signs, etc.

Electronic navigation has undoubtedly made my driving safer, especially in new places, and I travel very often.

CD player slot phone holder

I gots an older car too. Of course it has air vents and a CD player. The air vent holders were too floppy but this slot-oriented holder works fine for the times I want hands-free nav:

I like the Nite Ize mag mounts....they have a few options. I like that no special case and it does not obscure much of anything. Figure out placement before deciding on the style.
