THere's 2 details...
1, that derosa wont fit 25s, italian racing machine made before somebody said in a magazine that is faster to ride in 25s and 28's. 23s are just tight enough. 2 situation, and this is something some can agree or not. But the old tubular users might agree. You have to take air pressure off the tires or tubulars when you are not using them because they tend to expand. But probably this is not your case. |

I have to use Pave 25s (really a 24mm carcass) on my C50...CX 25s wouldn't fit.

Just throw on a cassette with a 11/36 and you'll be good to go and eventually make you a better climber.

My thoughts exactly!

I am pretty sure I was able to go on a ride because of temperature. I installed the tires and started my ride when it was 40 degrees out. Finished the ride when it was 80 out.
This morning I went out to the garage and I was able to spin the wheel (with a little rubbing). So I should be fine if I only ride when it is below 40 out. |

Temperature changes might have made it worse, but yes, tire can grow. Mounting tires and applying pressure can make good tires stretch at least a few mm's over a day.
I mostly use much fatter tires anymore, but a 700x35 tire can easily measure at least 37 or 38 the next day if left overnight at full pressure. Better tires expand more too. Change to a $15 tire and they probably wont stretch out at all. Scott |

Is there ANY benefit to making the clearances this tight on a frame? Seems well within the range of being as ridiculous as aero brakes.

I much prefer a more traditional approach. But you know bike companies, always trying to mix it up. |

Those Vittoria Open Corsa's aren't true 25c tires. They balloon to 27-28c.

I just measured some old ones (~1000 miles) on my bike, and on Archetype rims they're at 27.5 mm wide. Fortunately they fit fine, because I like their performance.

1) Tires do change size and shape with temperature/use and they also stretch and settle in after the initial seating. Shouldn't be THAT big a change though!
2) The tire size is just a labeled number. "28c" can range anywhere from 24mm to 32mm wide. Numbers are all over the place. It is a dumb and deceptive practice that makes tyre buying difficult. 3) Wider rim = wider tire width. 4) It seems height is the problem, not width! |

This has been my experience as well.
