Wheel decals. Should they stay? Should they go?

The bike already looks like a billboard. I can live with that. The wheels seem to out it over the edge. Huge decals that really seem to junk it up. Looks Nascar and I dint really care for the look.
So, what do the paceliners think? Do you care for billboard decals? I am not iverly concerned with resale.

Thoughts?
Maybe black decals?

Black is nice, but I don't really like loud logos on wheels.

When I built up the Ahearne with ENVE rims my local shop owner couldn't believe it as he watched me peel those suckers off.

Probably would have kept them if they were black.

For me it depends on the decals. Some look good, others not so much.

I have always removed any decals that peel off (i.e. anything above the clearcoat).

I think it depends on the frame, actually.

Some of the..."louder" frames look good with wheel decals:

Most of the stuff on this forum looks much better blacked out/removed:

Taste is so subjective and personal. That first bike looks like a rolling disaster to me; the second one on the other hand...

I'm not going to disagree with you on the first one, but hard to argue that the decals don't "fit" on that bike.

I remove decals on all my rims before building them up. That's one reason I haven't built up any HED rims as I've read they are extremely difficult to remove.

I'm of the opinion that at a bike looks best with one, maybe two, "brands" showing. If deep-section wheels don't match the component group or finishing kit (stem/post especially), then they should just be blacked out. Likewise, better to black out the stem/post than have mismatched loud logos on them. So, Bora's with SR11 and Deda/3T finishing kit, leave the logos and get all of them in the same colorway (bright vs. dark label, etc.). All personal taste though, and that's mine

For example:

The weird thing is I'm not an unconditional decal-hater -- I think it varies by case and I actually happen to love Zipp decals, especially when they're in motion. Case in point, my bike:
