Probably the ENVE Fray. It's been leaked already.

A cantilever brake?

I find the current trend of reducing tire clearance by 5mm to 7mm on gravel bikes and calling them "all-road" bikes amusing. We're basically back to the same thing that they called a gravel bike in 2016. Meanwhile "endurance" road bikes are coming from the other direction, and shipping with 40mm of clearance, and at least one team is riding Factor gravel bikes at Paris-Roubaix (albeit setup with 28mm tires).

It seems likely that this will be an endurance version of the Melee with about 40 mm of clearance and more relaxed geometry. This will definitely be on my list as a possible all road bike. Around here, you're lucky to get 50% gravel on a ride, so a fast bike with 35mm tires fits the bill.

The MOG is a different beast and this won't just be a MOG with more clearance.

I just always find it funny that, for me, a cross bike was an "all-road" bike when I started riding.. mind you, 35mm cross tires were "big", but still.. my cross bikes back in the late 2000s were probably the most comfy and capable bikes I've owned.. had an extra set of cheap wheels and rode anything I wanted, including most, not too gnarly, single track in San Diego..

The Melee and Mog are made in China, I assume this one is too. The Custom Road is made in Utah.

Thanks.

I can understand why the do it, but it would be great if Enve would just take a stand and bring production back to the states for everything.

In 2024, $5,500 is not really outrageous for a frame, but I bet they could really rally more people around their brand if they differentiated themselves as a real US manufacturer. Otherwise to me, it's just another expensive carbon frame made by cheap labor in a cheap factory offshore.

That's what grinds my gears. In 2024, $5500 is normal for a frame made with cheap labor. When Carl Strong can sell a US made frame by paying fair wages to his workers (and I'm supposing health care), and sell the frame for $5400, a $5500 Enve (yah yah i know, it is a "module" with the same jacked up prices for their bars and seatpost) is an outrage along with a $5500 Aethos frame.

Enve should make them in the US and compete with the other makers. And in doing so, stand out from its competition.

For those advising Enve’s business strategy, you know Enve is owned by Amer Sports, which is owned by Anta, which is Chinese, right?
