Curious where that photo was taken. I go to southern outer banks often but usually just ride same route up and down the island.

Bit of a lurker here, but I thought this would be a good chance to post up the CX bike which has turned into a gravel/ do it all bike. Used it exclusively on the road for the past few years but figured it would make a good base for my first season CX.
Frame is a Traitor Exile. Their road frame from a couple years ago. Enough clearance for a 33c PDX up front and a 30c Michelin mud in the rear. Mishmash of Red and Force drivetrain. She's been a workhorse for years and will continue to be. I've included a pic of the bike in go fast pure road mode as well for reference. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk |

Noice, noice! The way you're taking advantage of the versatility that the basic set-up holds -- just fantastic. N=1!
(I mean, maybe you've got twelve bikes, I dunno. I just like the chameleon thing. The split-personality thing. The adapt-to-whatever thing.) |

I still prefer the way this one handles, something about the longer wheelbase and chainstays. Quote:

This was originally a Bamboosero city bike. I had the FSA Metropolis post, bars and stem on it with a Gates belt drive but got bored of the leisurely ride.
Had the Powershift levers lying around so I decided to put them to use. The Yokozuma housing for the brakes was a cheap yet effective upgrade. Cobra cable guides worked out well. Mavic Speedcity wheels have held up so far. Not liking the RaceFace Evolve triple crank as a single too much. Might replace it with an actual single speed with a better chain line and tighter Q factor. This one requires three 2.5mm BB spacers. Not a featherweight at 24.5 lbs but still a fun ride. |
