Boulder in september, anyone?

Just found out our club is headed to Boulder for our annual travel somewhere big ride.

Buffalo classic?

I know it is like a year away, but it sounds like fun.

Maybe I can talk the spudster into joining in?

Are there any hills in Boulder ;~)

I've done the Buff Classic a few times.

Once on a cross bike to go "slow" with my non-riding buddy.
Once on the road bike for the Epic route - lots of climbing.
Another on the road bike for the 100 miler - to Carter Lake and back.

Best memory was stopping at the 50 mile mark, seeing a female fixie rider light up a cigarette while hunting through her pack for a Crescent wrench so she could change her gearing for the ride back. Wearing a skirt, of course. My buddy saw this and said "I'm in love"

Generally a nice ride, lots of people, good variety of food at rest stops, pretty scenery. Decent schwag at the end and good beer. What's not to like?

I just looked at the routes, everything but the epic has very limited climbing I would say, pretty flat. The epic will have a good amount of climbing, it's just out to carter, and then up to peak to peak, over to Nederland and down in to boulder.

I've done that ride before on my own numerous times, and it's a good ride.

I've never done the official buff classic though I don't know anything about it.

Just bring your buddies and do your own ride. You can climb as much or as little as you want. September is my favorite time year around here. Plenty of sunshine, warm temps, little convective activity, and great riding. Also, make time to bike tour all the breweries in Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, and Longmont.

It will be a great trip. PM me if you want specific ride recommendations.

It's amazing out here. My neighbor and I were heading out for our three day mega ride of the year and were rolling north through Hygiene when a supremely hot/fit 40-something woman expertly bunny hopped the railroad tracks going the other way. I glanced back at my buddy with a holy crap look on my face and he said "I love this state".

As for the op, ride anywhere you want to. September is awesome.
