Year of Living Dangerously. Mel Gibson when he was still good, Sigourney Weaver before Aliens, great script and cinematography. Score by Vangelis.

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not - It's in French so you have to read subtitles. It answers the question, how can a married man have an affair with a single woman while being a faithful husband?

I warn you only because my grandfather rented Broke Back Mountain thinking it was gonna be a cowboy/western movie... he was surprised, to say the least. So I wanted to let you know what you're getting in to.

The Tank - Russian tank team lost in Afghanistan at the end of the Afghani-Russian war - great portrayal of the war as Russia's Vietnam.
The Bunker - about the last days of Hitler, underground in Berlin. District 9 - Alien encampment in Johannesburg. Great play on Apartheid. The Driver - one of the last great noir-type films about a getaway driver. Moon - completely creepy; difficult to explain. * Note: I may have gotten the titles wrong for the first two. I've seen them appear differently for the same film. |

If you are into racing/competition movies/documentaries...
Dust to Glory About the Baja 1000, the different classes, what it takes, and the personalities who compete. A truly epic race. Little Fauss and Big Halsey The movie Robert Redford would like you to forget about. A story of two motorcycle racers, the inept, unsuspecting Little Faus (Micheal J.Pollard) and the opportunistic, womanizing Halsey Knox (Redford). Trivia...One of 'Robert Redford''s least favorite films he ever starred in and also one of the few times he played an unlikable character. Redford was reportedly very unhappy when this film was first shown on regular television about the time _All The President's Men (1976)_ was released in theaters. This might also be why it's not even listed on Netflix... Lemans Well, not a totally unknown movie, but unknown to many people today. No CGI, just real, pure racing. Filmed during the actual Lemans race that Steve McQueen actually raced in. Epic. William |

When asked this question I allways respond with "Dinner Rush". Stars Danny Aiello and a cast of "I know that person but can't place them" Great movie with a great twist in the end.
