I have a Subaru BRZ (same thing as a Toyota GT86 or what used to be called a Scion FRS) and made a rack that threads into the tow hook ports. Same concept shown in the drawing except I thread the rods in, takes about 1 minute, and have a Yakima BOA system attached to the rods and it works perfectly. When I get home from a ride it takes a minute or two to unthread the rods from the tow hook ports and snap the cover plates back in place and you would never know a rack was on the car.
