Morning folks,

New Paceline member here, but I've been reading for a bit. I recently purchased a Melee from fellow member Baron Blubba (who is awesome to deal with BTW).

Had my first ride on it yesterday, and was blown away. So different from my SC Stigmata (last gen) I have. Can't wait to get more time on it.

Question though. Has anyone found a good Garmin Varia mount for the seatpost, that screws or mounts securely? Right now I'm just using the small adapter that attaches to the post with the rubber o-ring.

I've Google-fu'd, but nothing has come up yet.

Not a round post on the Melee as far as I know, more aero or D shaped.

Nothing on the 3D printed marketplace yet either compared to the Madone or Tarmac SL7/SL8 offerings.

I'd suggest either sticking with the stock garmin mount or looking for a Varia mount that attaches to the saddle/saddle rails if you aren't running a saddle bag.

I have this for my Tarmac. I don’t love how it looks, but it works fine.

Ah excellent, I'd not come across that one yet, pretty much what I am looking for.

Thanks for the link!

What is the biggest standout difference between the two? Are you doing any gravel with the Melee?

Sorry for the late reply, busy last few days.

No gravel on the Melee, it's staying as a pure road bike. I'll use my Stigmata as the gravel bike (and road when the weather gets bad in winter. I already had two wheelsets for the Stig.)

I've only got one 60mi ride on the Melee, but my initial impressions are it's just a really fun bike to ride. The handling is more precise and sharp than my Stig, which makes it more sporty to ride.

I also find it's easier to get it back up to speed and hold that speed, say after coming out of a corner, or a slowdown for any reason, etc.

Going to try to get out on it again later today. I'm sure I'll notice additional things as I ride it more. Mountain biking is my main thing, and with that I can. notice subtle differences in fit/handling/suspension fairly quickly. With road/gravel, takes me a bit longer to notice things.
