Lake shoes...(please move, wrong place)

Due to a problem in one of feet I ended up getting a pair of cx 175 x (x = wide), and for what I paid for them I really have to say this... best bang for the buck ever.

BTW I used the Lake table to figure it out the shoe size and I can say it is pretty accurate. As for the finish of the shoe is pretty good, looks well made.

Even thought the shoes are not carbon I was thinking were going to be flexy, not at all, there are as stiff as the original time shoe, same with the shape of the shoe. Curvy and stiff shoe.

1st ride yesterday, no problems what so ever, no shims used, no nothing but a set of specialized insoles due to arch support. Shoes feel more expensive than what they are, doesnt look I will miss the bonts too much.

The only thing i have is the heel retention that is not great but if i swap the insoles for something thinner it will fix the problem, actually looks like I have that inconvenience fixed.

Really Happy with the shoes, wonder how the 400 bucks ones will feel, these ones feel great.

Thanks for your impressions. Looking to try the some of the MX shoes in the near future, and no retail outlet that I know of near by. This gives me a little more confidence going in.

I had read somewhere that not all currently available Lake shoes are build off the same last. Wish there was a way to virtually compare them. Sounds like the ones you got are pretty close to Time shoes you had, in fit. Never had Time shoes either.

Anyone have some comparable info on the Lake MX 237?

I am a very happy MX237 user. Great fit, quality, value. Stiff yet walk-able sole. Just the right amount of venting. Dual Boa closure system works great. Highly recommended.

Thanks for that, Guido. What other shoes have you worn that you would call these close to in fit?

I've got some 237s...gotta say, these you almost have to try on. the width is unlike any other shoe i've had in the past (not saying much, though...Specialized Pro or Sworks, or Sidi over the past 8 or 9 years). i'm very happy with my 237s. love everything about them. i considered getting a 2nd pair, but am holding out for some 301s.

Love the road 237. Just so you know the 300 series, at least the cross version I got, is not as wide as the 237. I got the same size as my 237 and they are definitely snug and I'm not thrilled about that. If the mx237 weren't $300 everywhere I'd jump ship.

I LOVE Lake shoes.

I only ride MTB shoes, because I never had issues with hot spots and I like to be able to walk without any concern.

They are stiff, pretty in a low-key way, and the real leather is a treat as they just feel natural and are very easy to care for.

I have very large feet (vertically -- as in from sole to top of foot) with a very high arch. Can't even close Specialized shoes, Sidi regular fit feel like ballet flats to me, and the Megas feel like Ski boots. These are just right, and 1/3 the price.

Previous shoes include two pairs of time high-end MTB shoes, and Shimano high-end. Highly recommend the Lakes.

Gratuitous picture attached under the very thin logic that you can see my foot.

I'm also a big fan of Lake shoes. I use the MX 237's as well. One thing I will say is that the rubber sole takes a beating, and after about 2000 miles of MTB use, I'm ready for a new pair as the sole has worn away at the heel and I'm now wearing out the carbon.

I am on my second season with a pair of CX331's, absolutely love them!!
Great fit, stiff carbon sole but very comfortable at the same time.

They have a a size table with length and wide, and works pretty good.
