HRM Communications Protocol

My very, very old Polar HRM transmitter finally failed (broke in half) yesterday. Amazingly the battery lasted for over 15 years.

I would like to replace it with something that will be compatible with my (also old) Concept2 rower receiver, so I believe that means no Bluetooth stuff. However, I may be able to upgrade the rower hardware to be compatible with more modern HRM transmitters.

I don't need any fancy options, just a simple HRM.

Anyone care to suggest any good options?

Thanks

Polar standard is polar.. so you'll need a Polar strap - likely the polar 'non-coded' standard (T31 non-coded heart rate strap.) For a long time, that was the default particularly for gym equipment.

Most gym equipment you cannot upgrade since it is hardware dependent.
