Now you have to start thinking about stuff like the color accents - what bar tape and saddle?

Given the frame colors I'd say there is absolutely no doubt at all - white saddle and tape.
Oh, don't get me wrong. Ultegra and 105 are great. Still, you don't put steel wheels and hub caps on a Ferrari.

New guy, take your time with this build and do it right. No rush.

If there are no brake nuts in the rear stay or fork you will need to source them - the frame uses the Reynolds nuts.

That's a highly regarded frame around here. Don't put 105 on it and expect to escape without comments.

I think Ultegra is still a good balance between performance/value/appropriate for the frame.

I'm sure if I had his budget, I'd rather get 6800 and ride the bike earlier rather than push my budget AND not get to ride as soon...

Trust me, if I had the funds it would be a full DI2 install, unfortunately I want to ride this bike in the near future, and college heavily limits my expenditures. Ultegra will be more than enough for me. I have ridden bikes with ultegra before and it is smooth and a wonderful ride.

Well, he could get a 105 5800 group and with the savings from not buying DA, he could get a sweet set of hand built wheels by that guy in LI...what his name...??

No reason not to start with 6800, and if you decide to later, throw super record or 9100 or whatever on it.

It was a big debate between 105 and Ultegra, but I think the $200 leap is probably worth it for the good things I hear about ultegra (not to knock on 105).

No, it 'cries' for Chorus(1/2 of DA). Or maybe Record. $500 less than DA at those pesky UK MO places.

Like has been said previously.. if they were not included with the frame purchase id get some reynolds brake nuts for the fork and rear stays as well or you won't be able to mount the brakes without sanding down some generic brake nuts as the holes are slightly more narrow on the frame and fork than most other frames.

these would do just fine..

And i too think that the frame needs campy .) Went with a chorus 10s group for my own ottrott thats being built up in the near future.

Gl with a very nice frame!

Forget the other parts, find the brake nuts first.

Then worry about the parts. And if you want to put 105 on there, put 105 on there. Whatever gets you riding the bike.

(I'd second some of the suggestions that Chorus or Athena would be really good bang for the buck as well, but get that whole pesky budget bit.)

Good luck with the build.
