NFS on all my bikes.

After reading all the positive reviews I had to try it for myself. Yes, it’s the real deal.

I use 11 drops, 'cause Spinal Tap...

Usually use an oil based lube.
Has anyone tried this, wax based?

I have been using homebrew for years with good results. I am intrigued by the positive results with NFS, but I just tried ordering and $25 landed for a bottle seems a bit much. Someone convince me it's a bargain.

This thread had me thinking of trying it as well. $15 for a bottle = ok... $10 to ship $15 bottle, probably not.

Yes, and it didn't last very long. Also very difficult to apply at lower temps.

I use Chain-L and get approx one month out of a single application. Yes, it's messier than clean/dry lubes, but if you resist the urge to "top off," it's no worse when it comes to attracting dirt (assuming you follow the instructions for the initial application).

Dry and dusty AZ trails will filthify your chain in a heartbeat if you use a wet lube. I lean towards the Rock and Roll wax/dry lube. You might need to apply it more often but it works and your chain doesn't act as a dust magnet. I will use any wax lube really but the Rock and Roll seems to be good stuff and last a long time as mentioned above.

Interesting sidenote; I think the dumonde tech lube smells like bananas and a friend of mine claimed cilantro. It can't be both, I wonder if this is a result of different peoples taste buds (some people love cilantro while it tastes like soap to others) am I nuts, this is a real thing right?

Price point has it. Less than that, but not a lot less.

You need to use the search feature to find it

That is also the case here in sunny NM. I use White Lightning, the chain stays nice and quiet, but you have to reapply often.

My question is- how can a wet lube like NFS not attract dirt?

I used White Lightning for a while and loved how clean the chain stayed, but the stuff needed to be reapplied very frequently.

I ended up going back to a simple ATF/mineral spirits mix. It's amazingly cheap and lasts forever.

For dry dusty conditions you don't want a wet lube. None of the wet lubes are much better or worse than other wet lubes. There is no magic here, they all attract dirt and grime. The wax based dry type lubes are the best option. They may need application more frequently but, the drive train stays clean and extremely quiet.

Dupont Chain Saver is an excellent product and perfectly suited to these conditions.
