thanks for the nice ride report. I always envy people that can ride and also take pictures, it just takes too long for me. PBP kicked my butt in 2011, but mostly on the sleep front. The ride itself was great. I love big rollers like that, it is just like the roads I grew up with in Virginia. Not sure if I'm going to make it this year

"He lives like a King in France" old German proverb.
Oooh, I like this idea!

Congratulations to plattyjo and all other PBP finishers!

Bjorn Lenhard finished first, alone in 42h 26m, which I think is a new record for the randonneur era.

Pffft. I could do that much distance - in a year.

Way to go, all. I hope the experience was everything you wanted it to be.

20th and 21st Century German proverbs are somewhat less, shall we say, kind to the French, kings or otherwise.

42 hours is pretty damn stunning. That's better than 17 mph average just riding time, not including controls.

Congratulations. I've been a long time admirer of those that can do this kind of event.

Huge kudos to anyone who's got the gumption to even qualify for this thing, much less line up, much less finish.

I don't post much anymore. But Chapeau to Plattyjo. She got to ride with my bro Mike and the rest of the NC Crew. And Chapeau to Mark Thomas who is in Charly Miller club. It is a hard ride.
