Starting to see a few 6 speed manual trans 4 Motion wagons out there. Anybody have a chance to test-drive and compare the manual to DSG transmission GSW?

Mine should be in very soon... although due to scheduling issues can't do the buyback/pickup until mid-April.

Stuff like this

scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology estimate that 1,200 people in Europe will die prematurely, each losing as much as a decade of life, because of excess emissions from 2.6 million affected cars sold just in Germany

is SO boring.

Anyway, you've mostly been helpful and informative in this thread. I appreciate it.

I'm pumped.

Apparently one of the first 6 spd MT 4-motion GSW's in the country. Pickup moved up to next week; the dealership will store my '13 Golf tdi until the mid-April buyback.

with my buyback/turn-in date almost a month away, have begun the replacement search in earnest.

have found that 2017 Allroads are in short supply, and those which are available have a lot of extra options we don't want/need.
spent a little time in a Volvo V60 yesterday, but found it to be considerably more snug inside than the Sportwagen, so my interest there has waned.
might do an XC60....

in most respects i'd be OK just taking a new Sportwagen, but everything seems to be either low-end S models or Alltrack. don't need AWD at all and prefer to avoid the plastic-clad two-tone look of the Alltrack.

anyone interested in a Whispbar roof rack setup for their replacement Sportwagen? have 2 RockyMounts Pitchfork trays as well.
also a set of 16" steelies with snows and a set of Weathertech floor liners that won't be given to the VW dealer at turn-in...

Turning in my Jetta Sportwagen today. Ironically, got the following from the D.C. Government yesterday. Non-expiring inspection sticker because it is a diesel or all electric car.
