I'm using a 2011! Garmin Edge 800. Works great for basic data collection: speed, altitude, hr, power and uploads my completed rides to rwgps. I don't use the mapping features that much. If I get lost I get out my Samsung S8 phone which has a superior screen and mapping.
When the Garmin finally dies, I will probably try the phone first. There is an app for the phone. It works with rwgps but I'll probably need to add a couple sensors: speed, heart rate. It does read my Stages Power Meter okay. For what it's worth, when I come home from a ride, I plug the 800 via USB into my 'puter. Garmin connect is set up in advance. In about 5 to 10 seconds the completed ride, with all metrics is loaded up on both rwgps and Garmin. That provides welcome backup in case either web site goes under. |

Yes, just go to their outlet store.
It still may serve you well to call as I don't know how often they update the outlet store inventory. I got my Edge 1000 there for $200. The prices tend to change depending on their inventories. I see the Touring refurb for $144 right now. That is a pretty good deal. |

I frankly hate my Touring Plus model - the mapping makes me want to tear my hair out and I frequently resort to just using my phone. YMMV
