Mavic 3G rear wheel carbon track or not? Need help!

Hi,

Can anybody tell me if this is an track/pista wheel or not?

Brand: Mavic
Model: 3G
Size: 700C
Tire: Tubes

It's treaded but very close to the wheel so I don't know if it will be well aligned. Also I thought that you need double tread for the lock-ring.

I hope you can help!

My guess is single thread for freewheel + long spacer has it moved over to make room for gears. Did you mount it to a frame?

Although I think there are fixed wheels without a lock ring spot right?

That's not a track wheel. That's made for a thread-on freewheel.

You can thread a track cog on to it, but it will sit very far inboard and you chainline will be off.

Thats a road wheel but is not that hard to convert that to track if you find the right piece. THe piece that im talking about is like a long sleeve that bolts in the road thread and at the other side comes with the threads and countethreads like a track hub.

I saw guys using them like there where w/o anything in the track, stick the cog and good to go.

If you are a little bit off in the chainline just put a spacer and that will do the trick, if you are anal about chainlines being perfectly alligned then you are not going to use that wheel in the track. Can you run chanilines that are little off in the track heck yes, if you are anal heck no! ;P
