Plenty that I know personally, and they're not doped to the gills. They're also not built like Nairo Quintana.

I know a couple of non-pros that are probably approaching 450w FTPs and they aren't huge guys. So I guess I could see it for a few of the domestic pros but I seriously doubt the "average" one can do that kind of wattage.

Just your average domestic pro.

I don't think any World Tour pros have an FTP of 500W

Dowsett averaged 395 watts for his hour record run and supposedly weighs 75 kilos. Sounds like all of these domestic pros should start hour record training since their ftp is 15% higher...

Wow. That's boggling power in an aero position. Presumably his ftp is higher in a standard road position. I remember when Lance released a video supposedly showing him doing an ftp test in advance of his 2010 comeback and I think it had him at 420w. But it was clearly a scare tactic so who knows if it's true. But the point is that if 420 was supposed to scare Contador in his prime, it's not what the continental pros are putting out (for the same rider weight).

Anyone notice that Phil consistently referred to Aru as Fabian? Kind of a mash up of Cancellara and Aru.
