Best wishes for a quick recovery Keith.

Are there backup folks who can take care of (most of) the day-to-day aspects of running the site?

I'd certainly contribute to a GoFundMe. As others have said, insurance won't cover everything. In fact, they'd prefer to cover nothing. I hope Keith has some people in his corner capable of going to the mat with his insurance.

Would it be better to start a gofundme or just donate to the forum?

Remember, gofundme is a for-profit. They take 3%. I’m assuming forum donation is 100% to Keith?

I’d rather go forum donation route.

I vote for something that goes beyond simply $.

Is there some sort of get-well e-card thing, where everyone who'd like to participate would type in a line or two? The recipient is then sent a link to the messages from the well-wishers. (although that's sort of already been done on the thread)

I wonder how his bike fared? I’m sure we’ve all collectively got parts to build up a whole storefront. Maybe we could send parts for the bike.

Perhaps we could ask his family to ask him directly what would be most helpful/appreciated?

I am up to any type of contribution. certainly insurance will not cover all. I think it would be good to ask the family for an OK before going too far. Anyone here that was closer to Keith want to reach out?

Hi all - been off the Forum for two weeks, just learning about Keith. I have not met him, but we’ve spoken by phone, text, etc.
I am confident that there will be non covered rehab, recovery expenses incurred for at home care. Maybe that is an area to support.
I have his mobile number, like the idea of asking the family what they will need.
Chris

It was a dumb joke. Wiggle and Chain reaction are the same company.

But if we decide to go the donation route, can we avoid the 3% gofundme fee if we all paypal/zelle/whatever directly to someone in his family'?
