Thanks... it's a paintball tank set up for air. CO2 would be sweet but probably would need a regulator and there's debate whether it accelerates drying of sealant.

Classic

My father recently gave me his first set of Starrett calipers and micrometer in original cases that he used in the machine shop, circa 1960. He thought they'd be of use with some of my frame work. Too nice to use, and too much sentiment. Thought you guys might appreciate.

Tip: Sometimes, it's a bad hose.
I had problems bleeding a brake recently. It was a Shimano which is usually very easy. Lever contact was great but a good squeeze on the lever would be spongy. I tried it every way I could think of... uphill, downhill, inverted, ziptie overnight, soapy water check... no leaks, no position change, just squish. Finally, I gave up and started swapping parts out caliper, lever, etc. to narrow down the bad component. Turns out the hose was starting to fail... started bulging under pressure but not leaking... probably got smushed from impact.
Thread drift - do you run a number plate often? I noticed a season of number plates can do in a set of hoses- especially if you leave the plate on and toss the bike on a roof rack and drive 5 hours.

those are nice, I would certainly use them. The few quality tools my dad left me are a joy to use. Just remember that a micrometer isn't a clamp and they should last forever.

I have plenty of grease guns and that has also been my thought.... what do I need a stupid brush for? Well, it really helps with applying, spreading, and coating the grease, not just dispensing.... two different things. I guess you can use your finger but this a tool thread. .........................TWSS!
