In aosty's defense

  • Belt and suspenders
  • Better to have and not need then to need and not have
  • Calling the sag wagon could put you in the doghouse
  • Hero/good Samaritan potential is increased
  • Riding with weights in your bag makes you a stronger rider
  • He was a boy scout and old habits die hard
  • Bike ride could turn into "he went out for milk and never came back"

That's a nice find.Did you buy it like that or refinish it? I know mine will be passed down many years after I am through with it.

That's how I bought it.
PO was an older gentleman that fixed it up for himself but apparently he's moving into a smaller house and this one is too big for him.

Yep, if it had been made in China, I doubt it'd be still working after 56 years

Nice find. That is on my search list for the last year, and yours is in way better shape than any I have seen... even the anvil looks mint.

Made in Schiller Park, Illinois.

Nice little village that's just outside the city limits.

I bought my first house in Schiller Park. It was a five minute ride to some good mountain bike trails. Flat as a board but good none the less.

Yeah, and on top of it he sold it for a very reasonable price.
Was surprised that it had been listed for several days before I grabbed it.
