Really good Strudel on Bearskin Neck in Rockport

Good coffee at Lone Gull in downtown Gloucester.

Thanks 45k pal, that sounds great.

I don't have any solid riding plans yet.

I will be staying with Bruce pal on Saturday night, he lives in Gloucester. Any suggestion as to where we might meet up and a route?

Does anyone with more local knowledge wish to organize this?

Personally i don't anticipate this being a hammerfest, more like a social ride, average pace between 15-18 mph, with some spirited and quicker pace (>20mph) on downhill sections and tailwind of course.

Looking forward to seeing y'all. Love to meet any and every forum pal.

Sounds good to me, lets tentatively plan on meeting at the Lone Gull in Gloucester around 7 Sunday morning for some pre-ride coffee and then we'll ride from there. I'll figure out a route or Bruce K may have some suggestions.

Perfect!
Bruce pal is currently off the bike but I am sure he knows the area well and have suggestions for us.

One caveat. I had a vasectomy last Monday. I am still off the bike. Not looking to go too hard. If any pals think they are slow and hesitate to join, rest assured I will be off the back and taking things easy, so come and don't worry about it.

If this is going to be a true social ride I might give it a shot for 1 day.

Lone Gull is a good starting point.

We could go out around the back shore and up to Rockport but that gets hilly on the return.

Or, we could go down to Manchester and Singing Beach then over towards Hamilton and Ipswich and back

Could throw ina little dirt between Manchester and Ipswich/Essex

Just some ideas

Just realized that the local Tour du Cure will be on these roads later in the AM so the early start idea is good.

Let's pin down some details by Friday

I'm probably going to ride up from Nahant so I like the idea of riding down toward Manchester from Gloucester, but I am up for whatever.

New starting point

If you are coming from Nahant, why don't we meet at Essen in Manchester by the Sea at 7:00 instead?

We can then meander over towards Ipswich (maybe Pine St - dirt) and then head south a bit before we split up.

Other ideas welcome

That sounds like a good plan to me. I have been wanting to try out Essen.

Weisan you were also most gracious to me with information when I visited Austin last year. Although we weren't able to ride together I really appreciated your input. I wish that I could join you all on Sunday but I get out of work at 7:30 AM. I will keep an eye out here. If you are able to put something together on the 27th I think I can make it.

Weisan, Ti Designs and I are considering coming up to Essex on Thursday morning, the 25th, for a chance to ride with you and get a change of scenery from our usual routes. Have you figured out how your morning rides will work yet? Feel free to PM me and/or Ed to work out details.
