Went for a ride instead of watching the TT, but am extremely happy with the result. 70 mostly flat kilometers (43 miles) of individual time trials seemed to be the appropriate balance for all the climbing in this year's giro.

As is well documented in these pages, I think more and longer time trials is part of making more exciting grand tours with a more balanced route that doesn't overly favor the climbing specialists.

Looking back at the tour and giro over the last few years, I see the tour had 65 km in 2013. and 68km in the 2014 Giro, but those are toward the higher end of recent editions. If organizers want to put in lots of mountains and mountain top finishes, I'd be happy to see 100km of TT (split up between team and ITT).

It is, after all the tour de france - not tour de mountains de france, or giro di mountains d'italia. Would like to see equal chances for gaps for the fast men and the climbers.

elefantino I envy you so much Thanks a lot for the pictures tho

Well it happened what it should be, I was totally thinking that pinot or zacarin were going to be able to pull off a podium hat trick and I feel bad for them, next year I guess???

Now TD needs to focus in the tour??? Love contador but I do not think he might be able to pull it off this year, TD could but all depends of crazy legs froome aswell, which doent look will be able to do something this year after all the doping allegations with his team but who knows... For the tour TD needs to get Kelderman back, but who knows... I think we are back to a generation of riders that do not need super team to win races, which makes things more entertained.

Will be waiting for the Tour now...

Thanks for sharing. You did it right. In a month taking my daughters to Dolomites for riding and passing it along to the next generation...

Enjoy the rest of your adventure.

My wife and I were standing behind Dumoulin's lady and he threw the flowers right at us. Also, we were sprayed with prosecco.

All in all, a remarkable race and trip!

At my last job I made mounts for GoPro to stick the camera out further than these transponders. I made 20 of them and they got anodized and literally got flown directly to the Tour De France. Yes, I made an extra and kept one.

What a great Giro BTW!!!!! Imagine of Dumolin never pooped.
