Lofoten Island, Norway

Has anyone been to Lofoten? How is the road cycling there? What is the climbing profile? Can you ride on the E10 road?

Awesome

My wife and I toured the whole length of the Lofoten Islands two summers ago. The riding is wonderful--our favorite trip ever. The roads mainly skirt around the mountains, so the climbing isn't too challenging. So beautiful around every bend in the road. Highly recommended. Yes you can bike on the E10, and it's fine. It's better to take all the longer coastal roads and take your time. You will be much happier. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any more questions.

Here are a bunch of photos from our tour if you're interested:

Great pictures! I would love to go there. It's higher up on my list than my wife's--need to check off some warm places first.

Thanks! It was a wonderful trip. Be sure to bring warm layers if you go. It got into the upper 30's F at night which was a bit shivery under our light summer down quilts.

Make sure you go in the summer. The days get short pretty quick that far north.
