OMAS part?
I acquired a bunch of Omas parts, alloy nuts and bolts, decals and such but in the box was a bag of these plastic spacer-washer things that I have no clue.
Anyone?

Back plates for down tube shifters. Maybe bushings for same.

Those back plates may interchange with Campy NR/SR.

Dunno about the complete groups (at least for US sale) but they were early adopters of titanium for crank axles, and made lightweight bolt kits that worked with Campy components. Pricey, but safer than drillium, ATMO.

I knew about hubs (had a pair), headsets (had those too), axles, BB sets and cranksets, then small stuff like titanium replacement parts for several campy groups from back in the day but so far never seen shifters, calipers, fd or rd from omas ever.
To me looks more like packaging, I know they made back plates for campy shifters tho. |

Trust me, they're shifter back plates.

Here's a brief history of the company: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/OMAS.htm
Don't see and derailleurs or brakes in the component list. Must be thinking of Galli? Cheers |

Great link, thanks. And there they are, Art 192 and 193. Rondella in teflon normae and Rondella in teflon doppia speciale. Still don't know what they're for.

The white pieces look to me like the bushings for brake levers where they pivot on the pin. If I recall correctly Campy used them, others may have as well. Without seeing them in person it's hard to tell exact size.

Agree the metal bits are for down tube shifters. Should fit right over the braze-on post. Tab is the shifter stop.

Are you sure the white bits are OMAS?
Looking through Google images, everything OMAS I see is metal (including pens, which I sort of remember, and meat slicers, which surprised me, but also reminded me of the current controversy over disc brakes in the peleton.) That image search also came up with several catalog pages showing aluminum brake cables and housings, something which really sounds dangerous. |
