I'm with you. I bought my osprey for similar reasons. I will also call it a rando without shame.

I agree, who cares what its called. Its a nice frame at a nice price and its good looking to boot.

Can't compare it to the NFE because the NFE is made in the US and I think at $1300 its a bargain compared to other stock made in the US frames (ocean air comes to mind). Which leads me to, why wont ocean air make something like this, its right up its alley and could be nice.

The FE geo is not low trail, the tubing (T6 tubing) is not defined but I'm guessing oversized and not light. Third, I'm really annoyed by them saying it has "Clearance for 43cc rubber"--"cc", really? Really? That's worst than "42c 650B". To me, it's touring bike like a Surly LHT with a wishbone rear triangle.

I read in the comment section on the radavist the twin six is 4130 chromo- what you would expect on a bike like this. Looks to be standard oversize, who knows what butting profile. Probably on the stout side. Standard front end geo... Yup, pretty much a disk LHT.

I was hoping there would be more that would offer a fatter tired 650b, or selfishly, 26" frameset-whether it be Ocean Air, Box Dog, etc. But definitely agree $1,300 is a bargain for a U.S. Made frameset. Only thing that is giving me second thought is I really wanted the lighter 7/4/7 tubing.

Hah, I'm on the stout side.

Happy to report back to everyone if I build this baby.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I can't imagine I will lose much sleep over the purchase.

We'll just have to see what happens.......

FWIW One of the fastest finishers at this years Almanzo 100 was on a single speed Cross Check, so let's not get carried away with criticisms. Don't like, don't buy it.

At least Twin Six got this to market place.

You can't get too hard on them for the tubing. It's $635 for frame, fork and fenders. For comparison sake, the the NFE is $1300 for frame and fork.

Just cause everyone's jumping off a bridge...

At $635, it's a low price but I thought we were comparing this to the published specs of the Ravn. If I wanted a touring bike I'd consider the Twin Six. But it wouldn't compare to the Ravn.

Similarly, the Fargo is a totally different beast than the NFE.

for a truer rando bike you can always go for a velo routier frame. Good price, low trail, canti bosses.

I just read their blog and they are testing this prototype:

Stainless steel low trail frame. Neat

Like it or not, the people jumping off the bridge are what defines the market.

I must be grouchy today but the Velo Routier is also not using light standard diameter tubing. And the racks, at least on V1, were crazy high. Still good job on the geo. I guess I'd say the same thing...I'd consider it for touring but not spirited riding or fun all arounder.

Who's even using rando or randonee for marketing besides Twin Six? I don't see Seven doing it. And the Velo Orange Rando is no more. All I can come up with is the Soma GR.

yes and the dropouts on the V2 suck. No one can get it right, maybe one day.

The rSogn was pretty sweet. Speaking of Rawland, if love to see the rSogn come back, as are others, I'm sure.

yeah a bunch of people were asking for a v2. It was definitely a nice bike but people complained a bunch about the fork and why people got new forks made. I guess its tough to get what you want when you are making stuff in china.

They don't nesissarily use it in the model name, but for a category. Seven has a page dedicated to it.

Here is a geekhouse:

I've seen others do it too. I just bought a bike along these lines. Rando came up a good deal in my reading.

I that no for what it was, the rSogn fork made sense. The Stag was supposed to be lighter, liver and sportier and that's where I've seen the aftermarket Lyons forks. But all things considered the Stag work is probably fine except that it meet the promises that Sean laid out.
