Right, just talk to any good-looking female tennis player. They make more off endorsements than tennis, probably by a long shot. Maria Sharapova is a fashion empire.

As someone who shoots pro athletes from time to time I can honestly say there's times when I'm stunned that an athlete will actually participate in a shoot like this let alone even talk to a photographer. Judging from the images, I'd say Froome turned up at a Studio in London with his bike and was in and out within 2 hours.

they do it for the same reason that actors do talk shows (no money there either) - publicity.

i doubt that he turned up with his bike. someone from the magazine arranged for it to be messengered there.
