Hot damn! I'm going to send my Duende in for a repaint this winter. Really can't wait to see a full pick of this!

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

The frame will be shown at the Oregon Handmade Bike Show in Portland this weekend (unfortunately I won't be able to go to the show). Hopefully someone on Paceline can attend in person and take pictures

Some might consider it sacrilegious to have a Pegoretti repainted in a non-Dario paint scheme, but my line of reasoning went like this:
  • I might be the only person in the world to own 2 Pegorettis with panel paint jobs: Luigino and Duende (and both of them together).
  • My Duende had several top tube dents as well as scratched paint. My initial plan was to have it fixed & repainted by Joe Bell, but his waiting list is long. My LBS suggested Black Magic, who has done some amazing work. They were able to roll out the dents. So the next thing was to decide on a paintjob -- something different than panels.
  • Although it's possible to recreate many of Dario's stock paintjobs using stencils, that Moots posted by AngryScientist and Mzilliox caught my attention and convinced me they could come up something creative that also fits within Dario's aesthetic.

What a nice bike!~

I would have reservations about someone else painting a Peg, but hey, you have to be realistic. My road bike is paint heavy (a Speedvagen) and I occasionally think about having it repainted when I see other cool paint jobs on newer models, but when I hear the pricetag for an elaborate paintjob is as much as some nice custom frames, I get a reality check.

Since yours has dents and was well used up, getting it fixed was an additional concern that was wrapped into the cost.

I would some day love to ride a Pegoretti to see what the magic is all about - theyre certainly beautiful.

Very nice. Can't wait to see it.

I had Joe Bell do a repaint of my Marcelo. Took forever and bit more expensive than original estimate, but very happy with it. Gotta get around to posting some pics.

Rudi is ****ing awesome.
Being someone that owns a Peg and a bike painted by Rudi, I feel like he is as good as anyone. Really.
