Community bike space in PDX?
I used to volunteer at a place in Tucson called BICAS that had workspace and tools that could be used for people in the community to do DIY work on their bikes. I'm hoping there's something like that in Portland, OR as I'm about ready to build a bike, but won't have my tools and work stand for another 3 weeks. I can't wait that long! Anyone from the area have any ideas? Thanks!

I believe The Community Cycling Center on NE Alberta offers some programs/access similar to what you've described.

City Bikes on Ankeny has a little loaner station, but I wouldn't expect to build s whole bike there..
I'm a little bit out of downtown, but if there's a special tool or three you need, I'm sure we could work something out. I have a portable stand and tool box.

It's a Campy, cantilever gravel bike, so I don't need anything too fancy, tool wise. A work stand, torque wrenches, cassette lockring tool, hex/torx wrenches, cable cutters, Ultra torque bb tool, chain tool, 10mm hex for the crank fixing bolt... I think that covers it. All stuff I have... in my truck.. in Alaska... which I won't have until mid Sept. |
