Bike racks that hold solid at 140mph? No problem!

My buddy pitched a Pivot 29er off a roof qith one of those bike chuckers, I mean Sea Suckers. It made it 6 hours down the road before it happened too. I blame that on product error more than install error. Had it happened 10 minutes from home, thats a different story.
I dont trust them. I saw another set mounted to the glass of a sunroof. That cant be meant to handle a load either. |

Impressive, but what happens if you turn RIGHT?

C'mon guys, if James Bond, or was it Jason Bourne....no, wait, it's Ethan Hunt! If they trust these suckers with their lives and get to the top of a skyscraper, we should too!

Hell I don't want a bike rack that can handle 140MPH I want a car that'll handle 140MPH

Ok, one more and I promise I will get lost.
Speaking of 140 mph....I hit that...once...on my 20-year-old Acura Legend. Scared the hell out of my friend from Holland. We were driving over to do a bike ride. He sworn never to get into a car with me again. He never did. I can't say I blame him. |

At least back in 2004-2006 Inno, formerly RV Inno, tested (probably still tests?) all their racks on the Honda high speed test track. All their racks are tested at 200 kph / 124 mph, with bikes on them (no word on what size but as they're a Japanese company I don't know if they'd have a 66 cm frame up there for example).
They also have access to an absolutely nutty off road kind of test track in the same place, I'm going to say there are about 1 foot high bumps staggered along one "path" that the vehicles drive over. They tested their hitch racks on that. I don't know of any other company that has access to such a track or tests their products in such a manner. Maybe they all do, I just don't know about it. |
