Plastic Rim Strips and Latex Tubes?

Have some Challenge latex tubes I wanted to try with Barlow Pass tires. Wheels have wide, softish plastic or nylon rim strips that go almost to the edge of the rims. Am I ok to install as-is, or are Veloplugs or Velox rims strips required?

Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem. But those plastic strips can move, ridge up and become sharp, or just plain give up. I'm slowly moving over to double wrap tubeless tape with tubes as the set it and forget it wheel setup on my bikes.

That sounds like a great method with some added flexibility.

+1 on the double stans tubeless tape. Never an issue here and have 3 sets of wheels running this method, including a cross and gravel set.

In my clinchers I always use latex tubes and all my wheels have veloplugs. Never had a issue.
