Lion of Flanders decal/sticker?

So, where would a guy find cool "Lion of Flanders" decals or stickers to put on his new Belgian bike?

It's not for me...it's for a friend. (coughs, looks away)

veloink also has a lion of flanders 'flag' as an option on their stickers.

the correct answer to this question, however, is to abandon the sticker idea and send the bike to Joe Bell to have the lion painted

Why, are you Flandrien? I like the Belgian classics as much as the next guy (and admittedly, the lion, is pretty tough looking), but Flemish nationalism has been a bedfellow of the far right since WWII. I have an axe to grind about the idealization of European national identities in US cycling culture, obviously...

Wallonia

I lived in the wallone region as a kid (Nato headquarters), so I had a sticker made up at my local printer.... that being said, I have a flanders flag in the basement....

If you are afraid your bike ride might set off a geopolitical crisis, there's always the Lion of Ned Flanders...

Sometimes a sticker is just a sticker and not a meta-statement about geopolitics.

You're obviously WAY over thinking this. To most "cyclists" the Lion of Flanders has nothing to do with being a "bedfellow" of anyone. It represents bike racing at it toughest perhaps rawest. Gnarly pavement, inclement weather, brutal climbs etc. None of which has to do with your remarks. It's almost a riding mantra at times, "no matter the conditions, I/we're still gonna ride."

As an FYI, this event goes right past our front door and it's symbol is the Lion of Flanders:

http://www.rondepdx.com/

It's a parade of cyclists not right wing "goose-steppers".

It depends where you are. I can assure you that if you go cycling the Ardennes wearing a Lion of Flanders jersey you *will* be looked at by locals, on a bike or not. And to many this will sound like provocation.

Climate is very tense between Flanders and Wallonia, been like that for decades but it's even worse since the last federal election where the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA... a nationalist right wing party) came in first!

That said I agree the Flanders flag looks better than the Wallonia flag. But the rooster still looks great on a Gaulzetti
