My beautiful Legend was also Cha-Ching Green. It had a Serotta 1" O2 fork which was made by Reynolds and really VERY much like the Ouzo Pro I had on another bike.
I swapped one Ouzo Pro for an Ouzo Comp to get an alloy steerer to allow more spacers. There was no difference in ride quality and not much weight penalty either so maybe any of those forks would make you love the Concors more. |

Gosh, that Concours is a gorgeous bike! I mean, I live in a 700 square foot place and manage to keep 5 bikes indoors (but then again I am single and don't have to bargain for space with a female)...there is always room if you look...toss away some piece of furniture you don't use...say an end table...do you entertain really THAT often? Then toss out some chairs...keep what is truly important in focus!
and reading over this thread again I think the guys are right...make the look your new ex-...dangerous territory moving entirely away from a LTR bike...sounds like sadness and longing down the line and that concours of yours is seriously a beauty... Seeing as we ride the same size or close enough; You can always send it to me and I will keep it here in Jax, so when you come back to visit you can ride your own bike!
Or really, you could think about couplers and keep 1 broken down! |

Elephant pal, I would say one more and then I am gonna forever keep my peace...
You ever saw the thread on "best riding bike ever" or something to that effect...noticed how folks are saying they missed their 30-40 yr-old anchor boats and metal-pipes welded contraptions? That's right. It matters not what we think. It matters not it's not the lightest or the smoothest today or 5 years from now. What truly matters is...which bike speaks to you...the one that goes after your own heart. Keep that one and ignore everything else that we said. You will thank me later. |

if this is a strictly female problem and getting along ect ( I notice she has 1 only!)...then you need to nip it in the bid or it will be N minus 1 perpetual!~

Can't help you with the decision, other than to agree that the Fierte IT is worth keeping. I keep thinking about buying something 'new', but then I would miss riding the Fierte. I think mine might get a refresh with Di2, but the rest is good enough for me.
Good luck with your choice.

Send the Look to either Dave or me and we'll take care of it until you have more room.

Talk me off the ledge
The Look is nice, but in no way better than the Serotta. I think you should sell the Look and the components on the Serotta. Then completely rebuild it with new badass components. You won't be sorry. I did that exact thing.

It's your decision.
If it were me, I would keep the serotta. I bought an nhx in 1991. The bike was raucous red with yellow and black graphics and was built up with shimano 600, but have since changed it to Record 10-speed. It was the only bike i rode for 15 years when I found a CIII frame and built it up. I have mainly been riding the CIII and KB bikes since, but there is no way I would sell the nhx. To me, the bike looks and rides great. Your bike looks great, also. They do not make serottas anymore. I would not sell a bike that I love. Last edited by rounder; 12-18-2014 at 09:10 AM. |
