Caad 10

Is there a particular year or years of Caad 10 that have the additional clearance?
I read that not all models have the clearance?

John H,

In talking to Beeatnik and others, it seems like the 2011-2012 model years are the ones with the best clearance. The 2013-2014 model years have a lower rear brake bridge that causes issues even though the width through the chainstays and seatstays isn't a problem.

Salsa

Just got this built up last night, got a few parts from the forum, frame/fork, wheelset, brakes, the rest was from my Wojcik.

Plan on destickering these wheels, currently have 28mm gatorskins for winter use, these are my beater wheels. Have a set of Ailerons being build up by Echelon John that'll be here in the new year and will be mated with some 35mm Clement MSO tires. Great 15 mile ride today, so smooth and just all-around fun to ride.

Need to lower and tilt the bars and a few other minor tweaks, but was pretty dialed in today...

Very nice.

I just picked up a ti Warbird frameset yesterday.

Sounds like you enjoyed your first ride.

I tell you what, I've gotten even more chances to put miles on my gravel creation (funky Kona with Dirt Drops from a couple pages ago). I did a surprise 40 milers on it the other day, and it was one of the best days on the bike I've ever had. Hooray for gravel!

Show me your gravelbikes....inspire me.

Got out for a great mix of road, MUT, and about 2 miles of gravel/ice/mud today. First ride with my 35mm Clement USH tires. Was 32 and snowing the whole time, had a blast. Looking forward to some winter riding this year!

Thanks, AS. Best bike I've owned/ridden. Perfection, tho, would be achieved through the addition of a blue CK BB. I'll ask Santa

Right now running 50/34 record compact with ultegra 11-28...mostly road/mut/fast gravel and that gearing has been plenty so far.

I'll likely pick up a set of cross rings as well for use if im not going to be on pavement at all...

This is my other gravel bike. It just put on Specialized Trigger Pro tires today. Very nice tires but wish they were a little more grippy.

The cielo is awesome.

My main ride. Sram Red (10 spd) 50/34 with an 11-32 in back. Works great and is my current favorite bike (though I've just acquired an older steel 'Lugi frame to build that my give it a run for it's money!). In it's current guise, it only weighs a touch over 16lbs. Pictures were taken right it was put together.
